Fentanyl Awareness Day is a critical moment each year to educate our community about the deadly risks of fentanyl, a synthetic opioid responsible for a growing number of accidental overdoses—especially among young people. Many of these deaths are caused by counterfeit pills that look legitimate but contain lethal amounts of fentanyl.
Our coalition participates in this national observance by sharing vital information, distributing prevention resources, and engaging youth and families in honest conversations about substance use and safety. We emphasize the importance of knowing the signs of overdose, reducing stigma, and increasing access to life-saving tools like naloxone (Narcan®).
Fentanyl Awareness Day reminds us that everyone has a role in prevention—and that even one conversation could save a life.
